Laura's story

'For about two to three years after treatment, I travelled without insurance because the quotes were so expensive. After what I'd been through, I lived to go on holiday.'

When Laura finished her cancer treatment, she was desperate to get away and spend time with her loved ones. She was quoted thousands of pounds for a policy that wouldn't cover anything related to the cancer, so she took the risk and travelled without insurance.

What's the problem?

Every day we hear from people who are having trouble accessing travel insurance.

  • People with cancer are often quoted premiums that are much too high.
  • Sometimes cancer is excluded from their cover, or they're not able to get cover at all.
  • People have to deal with endless phone calls or mountains of paperwork to apply for a policy.
  • Often people are simply unable to take a break when they really need it.

What are we calling for?

We want people with cancer to be able to access clear and fairly priced travel insurance policies, before, during, or after treatment. That way, more people can take a break when they really need it.
